The essays included here were created during a 7-week one-hour course, LIA194:Writing Our Lives, at Arizona State University, as part of the Discovery Seminar program.  The course provided a preliminary introduction to the writing of autoethnography as a way to share knowledge, insights, and lessons through the stories and experience from one’s own life. We are grateful to the Discovery Seminar program for support of our field trip for an intensive writing workshop experience. The course was taught by Professor Sarah Amira de la Garza.
